Meco on TV

The one and only time Meco Monardo did a major TV appearance was in 1978 on the famous show Dick Clark Wednesday Night Live on NBC. There Meco performed a special edit of The Wizard of Oz in front of an orchestra and included a special choreography for the occasion. It turned out that Dick Clark loved that record so much that he played it every night before going to bed. His wife even bought him a special pillow with speakers in it so he could enjoy it while she slept!

Until now, the only document available that showed Meco and Dick Clark together was the photograph appeared in the CD booklet of "The Best of MECO". But, thanks to Meco, I can now offer to all his fans some picture grabs from that TV appearance. Use the console below (RealPlayer 8 required) to listen to the show (including the special edit of The Wizard of Oz!) while you watch the stills.

Meco acknowledges applause after the performance

"Hey Meco, where are you sir?"

"That was great..."

"...all my fantasies..."

"...That's nice..."

"I had a dream about doing the music from The Wizard of Oz for for a long time..."

"Lovely job, thank you so much!"
